We’re a quirky trio with a shared passion: revolutionizing GardenTech with gadgets that actually make a difference. There’s one of us who’s a total product freak, constantly tinkering with electronics and IoT gadgets like they’re Lego. Another one lives and breathes circuit design and R&D (seriously, you can give him a resistor and a PCB, and he’ll turn it into something cool before you know it). And then there’s the business mind—mechanical design, marketing, and strategy are all his jam. Together, we’re always knee-deep in ideas, mostly wild and borderline impractical, but they always circle back to a common theme: how can we people grow better, healthier food?

We’re big believers in supporting food production, no matter how big or small the scale. How GRUT Was Born

One fine day, as we were brainstorming yet another crazy project, we came across a soil sensor being sold online in India. Curious to see how it worked, we ordered one. After all, monitoring soil moisture and temperature seemed like a great way to help plants flourish, right? But as fate would have it, the sensor turned out to be a complete dud. Within just a few days, the readings were all over the place, the design was flimsy, and we could tell it was just cheaply manufactured elsewhere and then sold here.

That was our lightbulb moment. We thought, We can do better. And not just better; we could create something totally different—a smart sensor that is durable, reliable, and truly built for the people here. Thus, the idea for GRUT was born: a product by us, for all the gardeners and farmers out there who need a tool that actually works.
